Contact UsWe should be about more than just selling a medical product. We should be a part of improving our customers’ lives and the communities in which we serve.”  - Brian Mohika

WHO WE ARE

CathWear was founded in order to improve the quality of life for individuals who have undergone medical treatment by restoring their dignity and privacy during treatment and recovery.

While working as a specialist in Interventional Radiology, CathWear founder Brian Mohika, would hear consistent complaints from patients who had drains placed inside of their organs. These patients would complain about irritated skin from leg straps constantly sliding up and down their legs. To eliminate this movement, they would overtighten their leg straps, which in turn would reduce blood flood to their leg, further complicating an already bad situation. Patients also complained about inadvertently dislodging tubes while trying to undress or go to the restroom. In many instances, this would lead to a trip back to the hospital for another placement procedure.
In addition to the myriad of medical complications associated with standard leg straps, patients complained of the daily stress associated with choosing clothing that properly conceals their leg bags. Something as simple as wearing summer clothes such as shorts or dresses is simply not an option for many patients
  • OUR STORY

In 2012, Brian had a vision of this medical underwear which would completely change the way the bag is managed now and improve patient experience when wearing a leg bag. It inspired him to design a product and offer a solution to this very real problem. A serious problem people with catheters were having was due to the bag sliding up and down the leg, the plastic-to-skin creating contact points, over-tightening of the straps and rashes/ skin irritations being developed.

  • VISION AND JOURNEY

Brian had a vision in the operating room and immediately started building the prototype. From that day forward, the people wearing catheter leg bags had drastic improvements in their quality of life and were forever changed
